VG949P Fizoptika Fiber Optic Gyroscope(FOG) Its predecessor is the VG949 developed in 1994. It was the smallest complete gyro system comprising hybrid processing electronics. Its production was later stopped because of economical inefficiency of hybrid electronics. Recently due to the progress in SMD production technique and achivements in electronics design it was possible to develop the electronic block with excellent performance in a smaller size. Its mechanical parts being fabricated from plastic have made VG949P the most economically effective fiber optic gyro.
General VG949P is sensor of absolute rotation. Its output voltage is proportional to the angular rate.
